Winter 2019 Classes: Understanding Color Intensive
There is so much to learn about color. How do you know what to learn or where to start?
Let me guide you. I've been teaching color theory for over 30 years and have seen so many theories. I've sorted through it all to give you the essential tools the representational painter needs to understand color. We take in color as sensory data through our eyes when we look at something we're painting. The way in which we see color operates additively. But you have to translate what you are seeing through the pigments of your palette. The way in which your pigments combine to make an array of colors operates subtractively. Most color theories address one theory or the other. My way of teaching color theory and the color wheel you will create in my course combines them into one system. Easy! You may purchase single sessions for $90 each. Tuition for all four class sessions is $360. Classes meet in my Ruston studio (Tacoma) every other Saturday over a period of 8 weeks. Classes on January 12 & 26, February 9 & 23 are now full. Sessions run from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. with short breaks. Bring your lunch. Beverages and snacks provided. I will conduct a short demo and discussion at the beginning of each session. Space is limited to 10 participants. Due to high demand, to be in this class you must complete the Winter 2019 Registration Form and submit payment by December 29, 2018. I will close this class when I have received completed forms and payments from 10 participants, even if it is before December 29. Use the CONTACT link above to email me questions.
