CLASS DESCRIPTION
This winter I will teach the essential drawing skills that all representational painters use starting with learning to analyze simple geometric forms and their position in space, progressing to drawing these forms with line and with value, and finally finishing the study of these forms as they exist in all of our subjects, including the figure. I will teach the precursor to painting methods of grisaille and trois crayon. All students will benefit from watching my instructional videos. These videos are usually fewer than 5 minutes long, categorized into topics relevant to study, and they are FREE for you to watch and learn.
I am committed to helping each of my student-artists achieve his or her goals. Each of my student-artists comes with unique aesthetic preferences, a different life situation, an individual level of mastery, and a specific number of hours to draw each week. Therefore, I will also be using each session to coach, critique, and instruct in the areas in which each student needs it most. Students are encouraged to bring relevant out of class work to class for critique. Enrolled Class Session students get the benefit of Individual Study and Critique ($80/hr.) at a group rate ($15/hr.)
