CLASS DESCRIPTION
This year I will lecture and demonstrate the concepts and techniques that comprise the first half of my Painting Problems to Master List. This list is a comprehensive two-year study program for any level artist who wants to master the art of painting. Although these problems are in logical sequence, they are not necessarily in order of difficulty. Any ONE of these problems is worthy of extended study. Most of these topics are addressed in my instructional videos. These videos are usually fewer than 5 minutes long, categorized into topics relevant to study, and they are FREE for you to watch and learn.
I am committed to helping each of my student-artists achieve his or her goals. Each of my student-artists comes with unique aesthetic preferences, a different life situation, an individual level of mastery, and a specific number of hours to paint each week. Therefore, I will also be using each session to coach, critique, and instruct in the areas in which each student needs it most. Students are encouraged to bring relevant out of class work to class for critique. Enrolled Fall Class Session students get the benefit of Individual Study and Critique ($50/hr.) at a group rate ($15/hr.)
If you have interest in completing the first two assignments working with the live model instead of the still life, and are willing to contribute to the cost of the model by paying a model fee, please indicate "with the model," on the registration form or use the contact form on this site to email me.
